Monday 20th July 7.30-9.30pm:Body of Emotion: A Forrest Yoga, Relaxation and Visualization Workshop for Walking Free from the Ties that Bind Us
This two hour workshop will be an exploration of how we hold emotion in the body. In this workshop I want to show you the sweetness of working with emotion through yoga, breath, relaxation and visualization practices. Sometimes we think that examining our repressed feeling will be very dramatic, dark, and somehow quite unpleasant; I want to share with you tools which can actually make this process quite fun and interesting! We will pinpoint where unprocessed emotion gathers in the body, and then gently and easefully release it. This process can help to resolve pain and sickness which festers in the body as a result of unprocessed feelings, and will leave you with a lighter state of mind.
Monday 10th August 7.30-9.30pm: Backbending Bliss: Exploring the Space Behind Us Through Forrest Yoga
Backbends can be some of the most joyful and rewarding poses, taking our body in the opposite direction of any habitual forward-rounding which comes about through our work, and through loss of connection with our own vital energy. Backbending rebalances us so that we get more grounded in the beauty of the present moment, giving us mental strength and clarity to approach life with much greater ease. Backbends can also be great healers for back pain, if done with mindful attention to a few key points of alignment. In this workshop we will sequence safely and steadily to open the body into a series of heart-opening backbends.
Saturday 15th August 10.00am-12.00pm: Happy Hips: Balance and Release Through Forrest Yoga
A dynamic hip-opening practice in which you will increase the normal range of movement in your hips, while also learning key techniques for staying balanced through the pelvic girdle, and protecting yourself against 'tweaks' which can lead to lower back pain. The muscles in the hips can get tight through sitting as well as through activities like running and cycling, and while this workshop will help you let go of physical tension in this area, it will also give you an insight into the emotional territory which is revealed through working into the hips. By accessing these areas with breath and mindful awareness, we can move toward greater freedom in both movement and feeling.
Saturday 22nd August 10.00am-12.00pm: Lower Back Love: A Healing Forrest and Restorative Yoga Workshop
Pain and tension in the lower back has a number of contributory causes which include weakness in the core muscles and postural habits, but is also linked to a number of other factors you may not have considered. In this workshop we will examine the multiple ways in which we can support a happy and healthy lower back, through a nurturing yoga practice which includes postures and practices from the Forrest yoga system, as well as some of the restorative poses which offer specific relief for the lower back. Whether you suffer from pain in the lower back or not, this workshop will equip you with the tools to stay strong and open in this area, to support your all-round health.
Sunday 23rd August 2.00-4.00pm: The Quiet Centre: Forrest Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Meditation for a Calm and Expansive State of Mind
This quietening afternoon practice will employ all the best that the Forrest yoga and Restorative yoga styles have to offer, to bring you into a space of quiet contemplation, where the mind is clear, focused and yet expansive. Using pranayama (breathing practice), active postures which help to soften key tension hotspots in the body, and restorative practice to support the body toward a quiet state, we will end this practice with a seated meditation in order to move forward with increased mental clarity and physical energy.
The cost for each workshop is £20, but you can book 2 workshops for £35, 3 workshops for £50, and if you want to book more than that I can do you a deal! ;-) These offers only apply if you book all the workshops at the same time.
