In my hatha yoga classes, we work to warm the body and release tension through joint mobilisation and pranayama (breathing) practices, move through some flowing sequences of standing poses and gentle core-strengthening work, and then chill out with some long, delicious relaxation. Expect to work at a level comfortable to your own ability and needs, and to emerge feeling energised and relaxed.
Forrest yoga is a form of yoga developed by yoga pioneer Ana Forrest - based on traditional hatha yoga but with a 21st-century twist! Forrest yoga focuses on strengthening yet is internally focused, it improves strength while enhancing physical and emotional health. Forrest yoga also directly tackles problem areas common in people today (tight neck and shoulders anyone?). This practice offers a workout, and is always accessible to beginners - it will also make you feel amazing!
Flow, relax and restore sessions begin with some flowing sequences to warm the body, and then mellow down to some long and sweet relaxation postures, supported by bolsters and blankets. This class combines dynamic work with a restorative practice, a really transformative form of yoga where the body is comfortably supported in a range of resting poses – it can work wonders for our frazzled nervous systems, and really helps support our immunity.
My classes are always appropriate for beginners, as well as for those with some experience.
